Question about 2003 Ford F150 Regular Cab

1 Answer

I have a 2003 4x4 super crew. It will not go into low or high and the light does not come on. There is no noises or grinding of any kind. Just will not go into 4 wheel drive.

Is yours an electronic or manual shift-on-the-fly system?

Is the system ESOF ( Electronic Shift On the Fly ) or MSOF ( Mechanical Shift On the Fly ) ? Lift and support the front of the truck so the front wheels are off the ground ( take safety precautions, chock wheels, jack stands, etc ). Key on, engage 4x4 and try to turn the front drive shaft. If it turns it is a problem with the transfer case. If it doesn't it is a front axle engagement problem.

The transfer case shift motor sometimes the contact plate is out of position as it can easily get off from its mounting. This is always the problem on 4x4 for ford cars.have your car diagnose using scanner

The brake warning light is for the hydraulic system.
It could be low on fluid or several other things. There may also be a warning light for a dead brake or tail light.

On my f250 super duty, the left low beam head light does not work - high beam OK. Already changed bulb

my 2000 f250 did the same thing. i did what you did also. changed bulbs everything else, but had to bring it in to have the wireing harness changed and that seamed to do it. Check the connection (plug) that goes into the light. mine was over heating and causeing the bulb to burn.

Where is the horn in my Ford f 350 truck?

Most of the Ford truck horns are located behind the front bumper below the right side head light, they are bolted to the radiator support, most of the time, both high and low horns are bolted together.

Grinding noise driver side front at low speed . have changed hub assembly goes away for a little while then comes back . can spin the hub and dont feel like bearing is bad. really getting to me

Did you recently swap tires from back to front. I had very annoying wheel bearing type noise and the tires were not noticeably worn (Bridgestones) but apparently some wear pattern was causing my noise. Swapped them back.

My parents 2000 f250 wont go anywhere when put into gear. As they pulled onto the street it just stopped moving and made a high pitched noise. There were no signs of the transmission being bad before it...
