You need to read the codes from the computer and then reset the light after you have repaired whatever caused the fault code. To get this done for free, take the vehicle to one of the chain auto parts stores and ask them to read the codes from the computer. They can then sell you the part you need to fix the problem and reset the light once the repair is completed.
