Any metal (sand off any paint).
Some common places are the seatbelt anchor bolts... the floor of the car (watch for gas tank location)... and the rear deck shelf.... are all good places.
Be sure to sand down the metal so the screw and wire terminal have ample surface contact.

A ground wire can be placed anywhere on the vehicle as long as it has good metal contact with bodywork or chassis.Hope this helps.

2003 Dodge Neon won't start. Codes P0706, P0522, P0344 and P0340

It definitely sounds like a wiring issue. Either the main grounds aren't getting good connections (a common problem on neons of any year) or the main power connections to the fuse box or battery itself are damaged. You may not be able to tell for sure, but my suggestion would be to clean and reconnect them, or have them replaced. If you want to try and make sure what connection the problem is, wait until it won't start again, and wiggle all the connections one at a time until the car starts, or the problem changes. It may sound like a pretty simple test, but it's usually the one a mechanic will do for a problem as intermittent as that. I only found mine because the car would sputter every time I slammed the driver door, jarring the connection under the hood that caused the problem in the first place.

Where can i find a wiring diagram for neutral safety switch for 2003 neon

The DK BLU/WHT wire from 15A fuse 10 in the fuse block connects to terminal 2 of the brake transmission shift interlock solenoid. The WHT/PINK wire from the brake lamp switch connects to terminal 1.

"fuse"

Had a similar problem. Apparently the driver had driven a little too far into a parking place and struck the front of the frame (Neon has a low frame) with the concrete parking block. A wire got pinched and eventually failed shorting that fused wire to ground. Check that. It fixed my daughters 2001 Neon and it now starts and runs. BTW, do the turn signals work. With mine, the headlights worked, the radio worked, etc but the turn signals didn't work and the car wouldn't start. My problem was found by a 'fantastic' mechanic, not me.
