If your taillights worek then it would not be a fuse because they are on the same curcuit as you tag light. Prbably bulb or a broken wire.

The fuse locations are usually in the owners manual. What you should do first is use a tester to see if there is power going to the bulb socket. That would be the first step, the testers are not expensive for 12 volts, then move on to other steps.

2005 gmc sonoma. Tag light isnt working . I was going to check the fuse but cant find tag light listed on fuse diagram. What else would they call it so i can locate what fuse its on. And if its not fuse...

You can check the fuse, but the problem usually is the bulb or the socket contacts where the bulb plugs into.
Tag lights (license plate lights) are exposed to a lot of weather/road exposure and bumps/vibration, which shorten their life.

Rarely is a "tag light fuse" listed. The tag light is typically on a circuit with several other lights or accessories, and most commonly on the taillight circuit fuse, but not always.
Only a wiring diagram or a manual will be able to verify which circuit/fuse it is on, so you may have to check several fuses.

IF it turns out to be a blown fuse, your first step should then be to trace and identify the source of the electrical short (usually in wires by the tag light itself). Simply replacing a fuse is NOT a cure or a good 'repair'.

(As I write this, I have 2 tag lights out on my vehicle,, one which I verified is a blown bulb, and the other due to a badly corroded bulb socket)
Please rate via the helpful button if this helped answer your question, and please post back (via comments) when you discover the actual source of the problem.

The gauge lights and rear running lights tag light are not working

Did they go out together? or did you notice the gauge lights and possibly your tag light has been out? In any case start with the tag light, check your bulbs then using a test light( to make sure i always have ground i use a jumper wire connecting to the battery directly to test light) check for power at the middle of receptacle. when checking for power connect jumper to ground then test light or try to find a good ground somewhere in the rear. if no power check the wire behind the receptacle. I don't think they run of the same circuit but to be safe check for blown fuses first!

Where is the fuse box for tag light

The fuse for the license plate light, if that is what you mean by tag light, is under the rear seat cushion On my 2005 deville it
is listed as the dimmer fuse. It is a 10 amp fuse. Look in your owners manual for its location.

Wich fuse is the one for the tag lights in a 1998 ford expedition

The tag lights run off the same circuit as the tail lights, if you have tail lights, and the only light out is the tag light, it's the bulb.
If no tail lights also, check the fuse for the tail lights.

Tag light not working

The tag lights are on the same fuse as your parking lights check your bulbs the little bulbs don't last long both of them are probably blown.I am assuming you are talking about the license plate lights.

Tag light is not working on 2002 Lexus GS300

I'm guessing you are referring to the license plate light. There are two bulbs. Pretty rare for both to go out at the same time. It could be the fuse. You can check if the fuse location by looking at your owners manual.

I think the license plate bulb is W5W LL. (Check to make sure). You can find the bulb a your local auto store, Walmart, Target, etc....
