Question about Mercedes-Benz C-Class
In general terms, the shroud around the lock is removed and the lock has security screws holding it.
The wiring to it is to a connector and the wire is clipped to the column to behind the dash. There will be a push connector.
Disconnect the battery, that disconnects the air bag.
The key and lock are part of the anti-theft system. Make sure the battery is disconnected for at least tow hours. Make sure the key is in the ignition when you reconnect the battery. Wit 15 minutes before trying to start it whilst the Anti-theft resets.

The first code is for "driver seat track position sensor low". The module detects that the sensor input is less than or equal to 0.3 mA. The second code is referring to the first code. I have no idea what the third code is. Basically you have two different communication systems mixed. The 2001 uses the PCI bus system and the 2007 uses the CAN bus which is much faster. The first code is a CAN bus code and the second is a PCI code. As far as the airbag deploying in the event of a collision, I don't believe it will with an active code in the system. I hope this helps.

Did you try jacking up the car at the front then wiggle the steering as you turn the key? Did you try a spare key? Spray inside the mechanism with WD40. Try putting the key in at different depths and turning.
The lock cylinder is a replace only item.

This can not be reset by conventional methods. This must be done through a scan tool. Usually only the dealer scan tool will communicate with the SRS module. If the SRS light is on you have other issues and they must be remedied before the light will go out. There is no way of knowing what the issue is without running codes with the scan tool.
