Automatic or standard transmition? There is no dipstick for the automatic transmition they are considered dealer sevicable only. However there is a plug on the bottom of the trany that you take out and no fluid should come out unless there is too much in it (which is kinda imposible seen is this is where you fill it)After removing the correct plug you need to get fluid up the tube inside and over the edge to fill the trany. The correct amount is when you fill it and it starts comming out you need to stop puttting fluid in and let it level off and stop dripping. Then you have the correct level and put the plug back.

Where is knock sensor on 2001 silverado 4.3

I would highly recommend investing in a Haynes Manual if your truck is that old. It is threaded into the engine block near where the transmission is bolted below the oil sending unit. You have to remove the distributor and the oil sending unit to get to it. MARK THE ***DISTRIBUTOR AND THE ENGINE BLOCK*** WITH A MARKER OR WHITE OUT SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO ALIGN THE DISTRIBUTOR WHEN IT GOES BACK IN!!!

How do you know that you need transmission fluid on a honda accord ex. I looked at the dip stick and saw nothing.

If you looked at the dip stick and saw nothing that is probably a bad sign. Most dip stick have markers on them in order to gauge how much fluid is in the transmission. Look at your dipstick closely and make sure you fill your transmission until it is between these markers. The markers are usually down by the end or tip of the dip stick. Be sure you do not over fill the transmission. I hope this helps you out at least a little.

I was driving my 2002 mclas and periodically the "high oil" light comes on..The oil level is fine what could this be?

Oil level should be just below the top markers on the dipstick and not on or over the top marker.

My truck will drive in N

Check the gear shifter lever. Also check the transmission. Also it indicates  linkage problem. The shift lever marker is showing you are in one gear when you are really in another. Check the other gears. Drive down the street with the marker in low see if it changes gears . i.e. it should not change. You can look at the tranny and find the linkage there should be marks on the linkage where the clamps have slipped.
If it cuts off due to it bogging down then it is a transmission problem loading up the motor .Check the transmission.
Get the car scanned at to get the error codes.
As per the error codes you can get the exact faulty part replaced. Its free to get car scanned at service center.

VW Golf 2001, V4 Oil tank is empty approxi after 2000 miles

Because your car is consuming so much oil, you need to check the level often, so the level won't go down more than one quart. You will get an idea how long you can drive the car before it is down one quart, and should keep the level at the full mark. You should change the oil filter, as it is still collecting contaminants.
Have you checked the spark plugs condition? It seems the oil consumption will result in the plugs being fouled soon . Keep that oil level up, or the result will be a seized engine. Also, I'm guessing the tail pipe shows black residue, another sign of high oil consumption. This is probably why someone sold this car, they didn't want to deal with an expensive repair of an engine rebuild. You are correct, an oil change should be done every 3k miles.

I will give you solutions in this order:
1. change oil and oil filter
2. check air filter, all lights ( brake, signal, head lamps both low and high beam, backup, and side markers) all fluids, belts, tire pressures, check the condition of transmission fluid it to may needs changing alone with a new filter if you havn't changed it before.Check and change as needed spark plugs and wires.
