Security is set. Could be one problem. Fuel system can do this, but rarely. Takes a scanner to see where to look first.

Mercon dextron III-IV Just make sure you fill it running and recheck it many times as over filled is real bad. I measure what I take out so I can certainly fill it back right.

Planning to buy a jaguar x type 2003 model.its got 49k miles on it.what are the things i should be looking at so i dont get burned out to maintain the car.

check history to make sure it was kept up on maintance and also check and see if there is a carfax on it to see if there was any accidents..also you can take it to have it inspected before you buy it.. they cant refuse you to do that if they do then there is somthing wrong with it

I want to know what the basic maintance on a 2000 dodge caravan

It depends on the mileage. You should change hoses, belt(s) and coolant at least every 3 years. Change trans fluid and clean filter every 30,000 miles. Change oil every 3,000 miles. Check the air filter regularly. EGR valve is a 60,000 mile replacement I believe.

If you don't have an owner's manual and like to DIY, get a Chilton or Haynes repair guide. Check the brakes at every rotation - I use 5,000 miles as my guide.

Hard one!!!!!!

Best bet is to buy a JTIS manual on eBay.

Basically, remove serpentine belt by releasing the pulley with a 15 mm socket and bar.
Unbolt old tensioner and install new one.
Reinstall new serpentine belt.

It's a tight space but with patience and a good socket set it is relatively easy.
