Diesel pump might not be working right. Try and check fuel pressure. I dont know if its turbo but if the turbo is failing then you will loose power

Driving 328I into parking garage and here a slight click and accelerator no longer working. Car starts fine goes into every gear but no accelerator. Could this be a cable issue?

yes it could be, just check entire cable to throttle body, it could be broke. I dont know if this is a dealer item. but you can get a new cable cheaper at a auto parts store. good luck!

you dont say what miles the car has done.but you should now be using semi synthetic 20/50 oil and try using a fuel additive(redex/wynns)to clean the injectors.if you are using oil it is possible that the engine has lost some of its compression due to ring/valve wear.did you know that to convert your engine to a 130/150bhp unit, you only need to change the ecu try"diesel tuning"website.....

BMW 523 Auto gerbox when cold change from 1 to 2 gear is hard

hello there

The problem is with the gear oil. To keep ahead of the rest BMW started what they call life time oil for their gear boxes, though that sounds great it doesn't really work in reality, they have now gone back to recommending a gear oil change every 60k miles.

In short you need to change your gear oil and soon, the oil in your gear box is no longer effective and will damage the gear box. You'll need about 5 litres for your car and costs around £15 a litre, expensive stuff!! I had the same problem with my 328i auto, the dealer was clueless and kept quoting the lifetime oil, I changed the oil and the problem has gone and it's so much smoother.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

BMW CUTS OUT WHILE DRIVING

BMW CUTS OUT

A few things to check.
  1. Is fuel pump delivering enough fuel.
  2. Is injectors clean. Perhaps dirt in fuel. replace fuel filter
  3. Air leakage at top air intake of manifold at ICV idle control valve. Two hoses inside this housing prone to perishing.
  4. Throttle position sensor faulty.
  5. Mass air flow sensor faulty.
  6. ICV faulty or dirty. comon fault on older e36.
Havent done it yet but ICV is easy to clean according to internet. instruction available at bmw e36 blog. All off above can be tested by yourself according to manual.

Gearbox help 1993 bmw 325i AT

I may have a similar issue, it's hard to tell from your description. My transmission is in 'limp' mode with a fault light on the dashboard. It basically causes the transmission to lock into third gear. Acceleration is poor because you are starting out in third gear. I'll let you know if I sort it out. It could be the switch on the brake pedal. Others have had luck switching that out
