Question about 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
For 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 5.2L MFI 8cyl:
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is located under hood, center, rear engine area, top driver side of transmission bellhousing, mounted in bellhousing.
If you have access to a car lift, take the trans cross member down. It will allow better access to the sensor. You can used a piece of toilet paper around the bolt head and stuck it into the socket, this prevented the bolt from falling down and into the bell housing, try using a wobble ext. at one end or the other or even try in between the 12" ones.
