Strange noise coming from behind glove box

While driving my 2004 Nissan Sentra, all of a sudden I heard a ticking noise, it sounded like a loud blinker, and it was coming from behind the glove box. Once I stopped the car, I removed the glove box, then removed a panel, which exposed a white "cushiony/foamy" piece. I readjusted the piece and the ticking noise stopped. Can you tell me what caused the noise? Thanks so much.

I have 2004 nissan sentra ,I can not get anything to come on

this could be a problem in the power distribution box under the bonnet like a corroded cable or the vibration has broken it ,disconnect the battery and put it on charge overnight and see what happens in case the battery is just flat ,if still nothing after charging try a jump start in case it is the batery died as they can go all of a sudden .

Blower motor makes noise when fan is turned on. Where is the fan and how do I get to it?

You have to drop your glove box. Behind your glove box, there should be the housing that encloses your blower unit. It is inside of there and usually held in by a few clamps/screws.

Hi, I was just driving home and my car was making

Yes, you apparently heard the belt as it came apart. You can look around the path of where you heard the noise and see if there is any obvious damage but usually, there are just a few marks unless a small wire or hose are in the path of the belt. good luck

2004 Lincoln Navigator, Strange ticking noise coming from rear passenger 3 row area over wheel well some sort of computer box. only when turn ignition or vehicle running, sounds like clock ticking

This is caused by a blend door actuator on the rear a/c unit. There are 2 located on the case. Take it to a dealer and they will know what you are talking about.

Where is the blower resistor on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?

Its actually not that bad to change. If you open the glove box and remove the screws then the screws along the bottom of the glove box at the bottom of the dash the box will slide out. Remember to disconnect the light if it has one. Now you will be able to see the underside of the dash. You can see a large black box that has wires and vacuum lines all over. You need to locate a small flat plate with two screws and a plug in the middle. Disconnect the plug and remove the screws. The resistor will come straight out. The back side will look like small coiled up springs of different sizes. Install in reverse.Hope this helps. Good luck. Please re-post with updates. Thanks cj2176.

Oil consumption, rattle, engine noise

Check under the hood and inspect the valve cover gasket. If it's bad it would explain why you don't see any leaks on the ground because it's probably burning off on the manifold. This ticking you're hearing is a lack of lubrication to the rocker arms. Apart from the valve cover gasket, you should get under the car and inspect the oil pan and oil filter for seepage. Best of luck on your problem.

I have a Sentra 2001 with Winter tires and it seems that the noise from driving has suddenly increased by double. It sounds like a plane. The car idles fine so it isn't an engine problem. What could it be?

The first thing to try is to rotate the tires. Tread wear will definitely change the road noise heard by the driver especially with winter tires.

If the noise does not at least change somewhat after rotation then the problem is not tire related.

I think it is behind the glove box. you have to take the glove box out. sometimes the sides push together and it falls to the floor. it is behind there.
