SOURCE: Starter in a 1992 GMC Sonoma 4.3 v6

bottom rear of engine on the passenger side, the starter is serviced from under the car. it is held to the engine block with two bolts, then u must remove the battery cable and starter solenoid wiring as well, always disconnect the battery before doing any work on the starter.

2.2L Engine remove protective shields as needed then remove front exhaust pipe. Remove the brace from the engine to the clutch housing, then disconnect starter wiring. 4.3L Engine 2 wheel drive just remove the right front tire and you will have access to the wiring. 4.3L Engine 4 wheel drive you must remove the differential carrier shield if equipped then remove the starter bolts and rotate the starter to get access to the wiring. Good Luck.

My truck just spins do u think its jumped timing ? 2001 GMC sonoma sorry 4cyl.

It is impossible to diagnose your problem without knowing the YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL of your vehicle. That being said (and trying to interpret what you mean by "spins," either the starter is not engaging or, if the truck has an OHC engine, your timing belt likely broke.

2000 gmc sonoma wont start all the time has new starter and key switch

If the engine will not crank, you'll need to know if you have power at the starter posts. It could be the neutral switch or the starter relay.

I have a 1993 gmc sonoma, put a new ecm in it but it willn't tern over, lights will com on tho an if i cros the starter the plugs wont fiyer

The problem is in the start circuit if the starter won't engage from the key. From battery to ignition switch to neutral park safety switch to starter relay to starter solenoid to starter to ground and back to battery-lights come on so switch is good, next check the neutral safety switch for power in and power out.
Once you get the start circuit working so starter engages from the key, then you can address the ignition circuit for possible no spark.

On wet, rainy or foggy days, the motor does not start even though the starter turns it over normally, especially if the engine has not been cranked for a few days.

Check dist cap, rotor, plug wires and coil wires for arching under damp conditions. They are kind of a bear to get at, so use high quality(i use original equipment) parts, so you don't have to do it again soon.

Wont start when it is wet

I would say that you need to replace your ignition leads with a new set from Chevy. I don't use aftermarket here, they are more trouble than they're worth.

What would cause a fuel pump to overheat

When the fuel pump is short circuit it will start going bad and thus gets hot. Replace witha brand new one. It will not cost much.
