Do you mean relay or start solenoid?? Probably solenoid, if so it's more likely bad. If all electrical connections have been checked and still no work, i'd change the solenoid.

I have a 1994 Nissan pickup 2400 2.4L manual trans I can push start but wont start by key replaced starter and starter relay get clicking sound out of starter relay but will not turn over

Check all connections and cables for corrosion. Make sure there is a good engine to chassis ground. You are loosing connection somewhere.

Sounds a lot like a bad starter. Is not common for the switch to go bad

95 explorer wont stay running

Someone will need to check the key switch and figure out what is not getting power. Could be the key switch or a relay.

I tried jumping the car at first it would take a jump but not it wont makes clicking sound when trying to start.Or it just wont say anything.

Hi, the problem is either the starter relay or the solenoid. The relay is in one of the boxes under the hood. A quick way to test is to pull the relay out of its socket and use a jumper from the battery positive to the relay terminals in the socket. Please leave the key off for this test. Assuming you have a good battery, one of the terminals should excite the solenoid. If the engine cranks, replace the relay. If not, replace the solenoid. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

2000 wont start just makes a single click when you turn the key. all lights, radio, windows.. work

First try to jump start. This helps us troubleshoot. If the car will jump start, we suspect the battery terminals are loose or need cleaning. If it will not jump start, then we check the starter, fuse/relay, and ignition switch.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5821173-doesnt_car_start_gasoline_engines and let me know if you have questions.

Jeep won't start

locate your relay. swap it with an identical relay in your power distribution box and see if it starts this is the easiest way. you can also put your finger on the relay does it click when someone turns the key to the crank position? there should also be a diagram on the side of the relay. you will have four to five posts on the relay it will show a switch which will be normally open and two post referenced for this switch, next there will be a post for your signal voltage which comes from the ignition it will run through a coil which goes to ground. with a jumper wire and the key in the run position you can jump the two posts in the power distribution referenced by the switch if the car starts chances are you have a bad relay.

if the car does start by jumping these terminals next with a test light check that you are getting signal from the ignition on one of the coil posts when the key is in the crank position.

hope this helps
