Still could be the battery or a battery cable. Need to check to make sure that the cables are not corroded and making good connection. Sounds like a battery issue or cable.

My car just suddenly went completely dead. Just parked it tried to lock it with key and no luck.

Your alternator went out. Replace that and recharge you battery fully. That will get you going again.

Check ground wires. Battery to engine, battery to body and engine to body. There are more. These are the main three.

I have a 2007 yamaha roadliner, hadn't started it in 3weeks. It started just fine. I Rhode it about 10 miles parked it for about 5 hrs, (was in the rain) when I cam out to start it, the lights came on when...

Sounds like a corroded connection at the battery terminals. Note: these can appear fine and still be bad. Remove terminals and clean with tool designed for this job, apply die-electric grease and reinstall. If this doesn't fix it, look for other bad electrical connections or grounds.

My 2001 Chevy Blazer has been parked for 9 months and the battery died. Before i replaced the battery the Steering Wheel was locked. I have replaced the battery and the steering wheel is still locked and i...

  1. Put the key into ignition and turn the key to On, but don't start the engine.
  2. Next, turn the wheel to the direction that it got stuck in as far as it will go.
  3. If it is still stuck, turn the wheel the other direction as far as it will go.
  4. If it is STILL stuck, take the steering wheel off and all the hardware. There should be a plate that has a small rod, no more than 2" long going though it. That's the lock. Pull it out and it won't lock anymore.

Help! I have 98 Saturn SL2 that was live one minute dead the next

Sounds exactly like my 1999 SL2 which had "burning and arching" in the fuse box. Car one day be fine the next I'd take it to the store, come back in 10 minutes and wouldn't start, no radio, no power windows, no keyless entry remote, no rear defrost and even locking doors from inside power buttons it sounded odd. This fixed the problem by replacing the fuse box.

Vehicle was parked and not started for 2 months.

Hi, there will be diodes in the generator that are letting the power from the battery drain away through the parked times when not in use. to prove it charge the battery- then disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, connect 24 hours later and see if the battery as kept it charge, if so - fit new alternator, good luck.
