Callietess, is there a sweet smell present in the car? This, and the film on the windows would indicate the heater core is leaking (the oily substance is antifreeze). If this is the case, it would have to be replaced. The heater core is like a mini radiator, the hot coolant from the engine is circulated through it to provide your heat. If it is leaking, it probably is plugged up with rust and sediment, so there is not enough circulation of the coolant to provide any heat. The heater core is located under the dash on the passenger side, and is a rather involved procedure to remove and replace. Get several prices from places you trust, as they can vary quite a bit. Good luck, let me know if you have any further questions.

The oily substance you talk about is antifreeze, your heater core is damaged and leaking in the form of mist and going to your windshield you must replace your heater core in the dash generally behind the glove box.

REPLACED BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE...Now blower is working but not very much air flowing out of vents! Fan speed is working...it heat and cools. but still not adequate air flow from the vents ..2000...

check your blower hoses to see if one or more have come loose or got redirected or the selector switch isn't functioning properly (is it blowing better on defrost as opposed to floor vents, or forward vents, etc.)
Good luck

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, heater wont blow heat!

Check the thermastat or your cooling fan to make sure all is working good. If your engine cant warm up, you will not produce any heat inside the car

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee's fan does not work. No heat/air/cool air is coming out of the vents. What is wrong?

Could be the switch that controls the fan or the fan its self. Possibly a fuse has blown. All are a fairly easy fix

I don't have the manual to my 2000 Jeep Cherekee Sport.

It is a 12v heavy guage wire that tends to burn out the point where it connects to a white plastic multi-pin connector near the fan. It comes back on when a viration jiggles the break closed.
It takes alot of time, patience and a limber back to climb under the dash and find it. I suggest going to a shop - < $100.

The blower doesn't work for heat/defrost

If you have Automatic Temperture Control then you will need a blower resistor module which could be around $100 to $200. If you have a manual temperture control then it can be just a simple $20 blower resistor.
