How can i put my car in nuetral 2001 volvo s40 if i dont have any keys

You can the remove cable from side of the transmission under the car that comes from the inside shift lever. Once the cable is removed you can move lever on the side of the transmission manually. If you are crawling under the car put blocks in front and back of all 4 tires. Have 2 people. As soon as you move the lever on the side of the transmission THE CAR WIIL ROLL make sure you have blocks on all 4 wheels.

Cant get wires off the plugs

what we do with front wheel drive vehicles is take the top engine motor mounts off. Then you will need some help to rock the car forward on park, you will see engine move toward radiator, then block the wheels.Be carefull when you put arms behind engine, if you can put a wood block between angine and firewall to keep engine from moving. This should give you enough room.

I am trying to remove the the metal hub to check the the attachment that the handbrake cable is attached to but I don't know the process to remove it.

The method i have always used is to slightly heat the hub and hold a wooden block to the back of it. Get a 2lb sledge hammer and hit the block but move the block around the hub while ur hitting it. Its a vigorous job but it will pop rite off after a few minutes of heating and swinging. Just remember to not get it to hot or your axle bearings may melt the grease out of them .

My brakes stay stuck and the car wont move

sounds like your emergency brake cables are stuck raise your car one wheel at time starting with the front (block the back wheels for safety) put the car in neutral and see if the front wheels spin by hand if so the e-brake is the problem try rocking the brake handle a few times if that dont do it put the car back down find the cables under the car and try to move them around the cable may release itself doing this

How to change spark plugs and wires

Joe s anwers is good and I can add a step to give greater access . Place car in nuetral with wheels at rear of car loosely blocked { 1 - 2 inches before tire hits front block } . Then acquire 2 ton Logistic strap { used by trucking / moving vans to strap items in place - hooks on each end with ractheting device to tighten up } Place car in Nuetral and Hook one end to front of motor eye / bracket for engine removal - Now hook other end to Radiator crossmember support { near washer bottle works } . Tighten rachet mechanism handle and watch engine get pulled forward allowing you 2 inches more of firewall access to get plugs out . Car must be in Nuetral for above -Then Caution Fully Block Wheels in case Strap lets go while working against firewall .

Rear wheels locked up on my 1997 dodge grand caravan, had it towed and then while dragging it with a tow chain to move it they unlocked. Can you tell me what might cause this?

rust, pure and time you park up for an extended period, block the wheels and release the parking brake.
What you could have done is put it in reverse then drive to rock the car back and forwards to release them, yes, it is that easy.......

Golf MK4 Handbrake blocking

Seems like your rear brakes are staying stuck in locked position when you release the E-brake. Try to adjust the e-brake from under the car first. If that does not work then remove the rear drum, and there is a adjustment bolts. Turn it a few turns put back on the drum and try again.

Car wont move when transmission is in drive

With the car NOT running and the wheels BLOCKED on both sides of the wheel have someone look for a rod that connects to the transmission. If you move the shifter as someone looks it may be more obvious. See if that rod is still connected to the transmission. If it is all electronic you may have more serious problems and a transmission repairman will need to me involved.
