SOURCE: my power locks keep locking and unlocking on there own.

Here is a recent reply I gave to a person with similar problem, which can be related to the BCM.(Body control module) I suspect your is in same category.
Disconnect your battery for 5 minutes or so, then reconnect, and see if that helped at all. I have heard in some cases it worked successfully. If that doesn't cure it, I would go to the plug on the BCM itself, (with battery disconnected) and pull the plug off, inspect it, and clean it & mating pins on BCM very thoroughly with contact cleaner or similar electrical cleaner. Add a little di-electric grease to connection & put it back together nice & tight & see what happens. The BCM is usually located on passenger side in kick panel area,(by right foot when sitting) either behind kick panel or above it.

This is a common problem on Dodge trucks. The noise is the sound of a small plastic gear that is stripped. The only solution is to replace the lock actuator.

If I buy a new central locking key for my sprinter can I programme it myself ?

Def not,

Take it to a key cutter with appropriate software to mate it to your spare key

As a second note keep your key bunch light on 2008 sprinter or you'll break the esr ring

Electronic sensor ring - big bucks to fix and lots of downtime. This happened to me.

Esr ring if it goes will leave electronic solenoid in steering lock engaged and once you've had the sprinter put on the back of a truck and taken to main dealer they replace key box and then everything has to be re- paired with ecu

Big big bucks.

But a great van :-)

Our 2001 Mazda MPV doors are not locking. Before, we were able to lock all doors just by locking manually locking from the inside on the driver side and using the remote keyless entry. Now, when we try...

The clicking you hear is the vehicle asking for the program sequence to reprogram the locking system. Apparently something threw it out of sequence, ( a battery change , jumpstart, voltage spike , etc). The programming sequence that mazda uses is really kinda crazy. I was able to locate the sequence to try. If it does not work have the dealership flash the pcm, (another word for reprogram the powertrain control module). Here is the sequence:
1) Get in MPV with ignition key, and all fobs for the vehicle.
2) Close all doors and remove ignition key if it is in ignition.
3) Open driver's door
Note: Steps 4 and 5 must be completed in under thirty seconds.
4) Repeat the following three times
a) Insert ignition key
b)Turn ignition switch to on and then to lock
c) Remove ignition key
5) Repeat the following three times
a) Close driver's door
b) Open driver's door
Locks should all lock and then unlock within a couple of seconds--you'll hear the clicking sound
6) Press any button two times within five seconds on fob being programmed.
Locks should again lock and unlock
7) Repeat step 6 for all other fobs being programmed. When done with last fob, wait a few seconds and then you should be done with the reprogramming. Each fob should now work for this vehicle.

I have a 06 2500 dodge sprinter and the fan control speed wheel isnt working. Settings 1-4 will not work. I can feel hot or cold air coming out of the vents while I'm driving but cannot adjust it.

I have changed the resistor 2 times for the same problem. Its under the hood behind the fan motor insulation.
Mine burned because of fan motor frozen & stuck in the winter. Solution is to let the engine warm up before turning the fan on.
Cheers, Brian

Want to know how to fix my locking system. I will hit the remote to lock but it won't lock the van

try sitting in van, with key fob. open all buttons; place keys in ignition. Turn carefully from off position to on position... 4 times, ending in the off pos. Within 10 seconds lock ( downward ) your internal door lock . Hopefully this works.

2005 Chevrolet Silverado Automatic door locks

I assume you mean that the central locking system will not lock the doors but you can do so manually.

Get inside the vehicle and close all doors.

On each rear door, lock and unlock the mechanism manually a couple of times. In other words do not use the key pad.

Then leave both rear doors in the locked position (manual locking) and operate the lock button on you key pad to operate the central locking system. Wait a few seconds then hit unlock on your key pad and a few seconds later hit lock on your key pad.

If the system fails to lock your rear doors you will need to get the vehicle to an auto electrician to check out the issue and rectify it for you. There are a number of possible causes which cannot be identified without physically checking the system. So you will need to have this rectified by a professional.

Automatic door locks will not lock rear doors, they open fine when manually locked but will not lock with switch key fob or when put in gear.

1997 Porsche Carrera S --- Central Locking System Battery went dead while on travel and now the key fob for central locking is kaput! Is there a sequence to re-sync the fob to controller?

Hi,

Maybe you can try this procedure to resyn your key.
Initialization Procedure.

1. Open central locking system using the car key.
2. Get into the car and close all doors.
3. Using the car key, switch the ignition lock briefly to position "1" and then switch off again. (Please do this switching within 5 seconds or otherwise the system is not ready for initialization.
4. At the remote control key. Press the "OPEN" key (->) and keep holding.
5. When holding the "OPEN" key, press the "LOCK" button three time.
6. After pressing the "LOCK" button 3 times, release the "OPEN" button.
7. If the initialization process is sucessful, the door will lock and unlock immediately to confirm the process.

I have a 1998 Mercedes Ml 320 and I just put in a new battery. Now it will start up but stalls out right away. It won't stay running.

First you need to see if the remote central locking is working. It sounds like your transponder(key) is un synchronized. Even if the central locking is working there is a d.a.s.(driver authorization problem). Try your other key if you have one. There is a way to resynch the key w/o a factory scan tool but you have to follow the directions exactly and be quick. Point key at door receptor.( grab handle area) Hold the lock button down and press the unlock button 5 times in 10 seconds while holding down the lock button. hold the lock button down the entire 10 seconds even if you've hit the button 5 times. after the 10 seconds is up release and hit the lock button again. The d.a.s. system shuts off your fuel pump when their is an authorization error. It is a common problem in 98 and 99 ml's. Your owner's manual tells you how to resynch the key if my description is difficult to follow. Hopefully I have been helpful
