Your engine may not nessicarliy be bad it could have a broken vacum line or simply need the plugs and plug wires replaced

It may be due to lack of quality of the fuel you are using. Try good quality fuels having anti knocking agents (It is a gasoline additive used to reduce engine knocking and increase the fuel's octane rating. If the problem persists your engine is bad.
