    hi DJMAC62
thank you for the re: which switch do you mean TO BE ON?
My problem is that the light to the manual switch is not on there is a fuse in the glove comp number 57 and is not bad,the fuse number 88 in the right rear in the stor.compartment is also ok.But still no lights on dash for the manual switch. And of course the Air Susp Inactive came first.
if you have a minute please let me know is there any other fuse for the EAS?Is there in an engine compartment any fuse box ?This is 2004 HSE model, ocording the rr.net there is a fuse no.44 for suspension there?
    thanx if can help

    COULD SOMEONE help me?
I have been diging around my 2004 Range Rover to look for some way to pump up the rear air shocks.I have found at rear right wheel fender what seams like a regulator,i have tryed to release the air so the front of the car goes down and of course now the rear has botton out.In the raer right cover i have found the wires for the compresor if i jump these the compresor runs but in does not fill the air to the rear shocks?is there a way to do this manualy..how long would it take if i jump the wires to the compresor to fill the air shocks?
i would be very glad if someone helps me.Can i drive the car like this to a dealer? my mail is trubka@hotmail.com
    thank you

After the air shocks were full i used the other regulator -on to right rear wheel- there are line which i carefuly loosen with wrench no.12 mm (there are tiny o rings,So and with a tape measure i got the correct hights of the car.Still have to get the lights of the dash off but the RR rides soft...tools you need, flash light 2metal picks,2 vire axtensions,1 extra batery or other 12v source,i crocodiles conector to jump the air compreosr in trunk are behind the, right rear panel(red+yellow and red+white wires),12mm open wrench,wd40 ,to lubricate the release lines so the oring does not get pinched, and a tape measure..

Looks like my starting comment how i fixed my RR is not here....?
So i have raised my Range Rover manualy with out any external unit or compresor.
I pluged the air press.regulator by the compresor so the air would be always flowing by jumping red+yellow and re+white wires in the side trunk compartment.
Than i have located regulator under the pass.floor.There are 3 el.magnetic valves.By using external batery and 2 picks -after the compresor is on by jumping each el connector the air would get to each air shocks. After the suspension is full and the car is not even, you can release the air with a tape measure next to the RR and with 12mm wrench you can lose the air lines on right rear regulator (by the Rear wheel ) I use wd40 on the line so the orings don`t get cutt.

Make sure the switch is on. it should be in the trunk area. if thats not the problem, there is probably a leak in that shock. they are known for this problem after about 5 years.

2004 Range Rover HSE with 78,000 making a humming sound when it goes over 45 MPH Air Suspension System Inactive is reading on the dash , do I need a new compressor?

Humming sound is from the front plastic cowling on the outside of the car, at bottom of windshield, This plastic cover warps over time causing the sound. A little silicone adhesive to tack trim down will alleviate the noise.
    2. Air suspension inactive light can illuminate for multiple reasons, To avoid unecessary expense the car should be scanned with a land rover scanner (dealer or aftermarket (expensive) unit)). The compressors do go out, Compressor is the domed shape unit under the spare tire.

Air suspension inactive, HDC inactive, ABS light on, Range Rover

Air Suspension Inactive usually means there is a problem with the Air Suspension. However, it will also come up when alternator or battery voltage is low, or when you reset (disconnect and then connect) the battery. To reset it manually: while in P(ark), turn steering wheel all the way left, hold few seconds, and then all the way right, hold few seconds. All the warning lights will go out. Most common failure is the passenger front air strut, since batteries are prone to leaking acid, it leaks right on top of the rubber airbag and burns through it. Dealer willcharge you one hour to diagnose, or you can easily diagnose this by looking at the ride height of each particular corner of the truck. If its sits low, or emits hissing sound when you park the truck, its leaking. If you keep driving with leaky air strut, you risk burning up the air compressor, as its working extra hard to compensate for the leak. Replacing the strut is easy 45min job even for a novice mechanic, and you can do it yourself. Strut can be found new for approx $750 online. If you are fed up with air suspension issues, there is a $700 kit that converts the truck to springs, and disables all of the air suspension. Look up Arnott Industires
