Resolved my 2002 TDCI fiesta with 1 year struggle with EAC FAIL by cleaning MAF sensor.Now car performs like it should,good power,acceleration and speed.Hope this will help you too.

You need the fault code read that was recorded when the EAC failed.

I have an EAC failure on my wifes 53 reg Fusion 1.4 and it's been off the road for 2 months. An independent check showed fault code P2135, which relates to the throttle body but fitting a body from a healthy Fiesta with the same engine didn't solve the problem. I was advised to check wiring to the body but all seemed OK. Took car to Ford who stated that the car needs an updated body and wiring and the parts are on back order with first delivery not due until Jan 2010! Why the car won't work with replacement original parts is a mystery. I'm very disappointed with Ford. Sorry this doesn't solve the problem but hope it clarifies the situation. Have logged this on other websites and with BBC Watchdog!

ive got the same problem and have been told it is 1 of the valves sticking- I have had 1 done already and been told that it is a common fault and if it continues to bring it bk and get the other 1 done.. the valve flap under bonnet doesnt open and close properly causing it to stick....just what ive been told?... zetec 03

I had a 2002 model 1.4 Fiesta, same problem Engine management light or ECA, electronic accelaration Control (EAC), it needs a ford dealer to do a computer diagnostic, most likely that it will need replaced.

Mt friend who is a mechanic for ford said that it was a common factory fault and is very common in 1.4 zetec /duratec petrol models.

I now have a 2007 Fusion and was quick to see if this problem had been sorted on this model, and it has!!
