Question about 1990 Honda Civic

1 Answer

1st gear 1990 honda civic si, has trouble going into 1st gear sometimes when I stop. It goes into the other gears fine when I am driving. I dont think it is the clutch fluid. A friend told me that it could be a bolt I need to tighten in the transmission. Any advice on what it would be and what I could try would be great. thanks

High milage may need trans fluid replaced. Not the clutch hydraulic fluid but the gear oil/fluid. Could be the 1st gear syncro is warn too.

You are probably going to need a syncro on third gear, trans has to come out and be taken apart.

2003 honda civic you drive on the street with D or

Drive the vehicle in "D". The D selection is the overdrive. You can consider the overdrive as a fourth gear. The D3 is simply third gear, and if driven in D3, the transmission will never shift into overdrive when needed.

1990 honda crx si transmission trouble

this is not the problem of fluid, this is a major problem of transmission. The transmission must be detached from the engine, which you cant do by yourself. the transmission can be repaired but i dont know mechanics in your do it. otherwise you have to replace the transmission.
