Brake light switch is bad or out of adjustment. It's mounted under the dash and is pressed to the off condition when the brake pedal is at rest. Look under the dash and follow the pedal arm up to the pivot and you will see or feel it. It is active with the ignition off.

When I turn my lights on, the brake lights stay on even the third brake light. When I turn the lights off and hit the brake pedal the dash lights come on.

ck the bulbs, have any bulbs been replaced recently, could have the wrong bulb installed in the brake light socket.

Key hot when removed form the ignition

I purchased a 2010 Corolla in Jul\t 2009. For two months, several times, the key was hot when I removed it from the ignition. I was told it was due to the Immobilizer chip in the handle. I'm concerned as it happened again in Sept 2010. and if it does this periodically I feel in time it could cause a dangerous problem as cars have caught fire due to ignition problems. What response did you get from your dealer or how did you sove your problem??

1993 corolla brake lights stay on, but it is not the brake light switch. when i checked brake light switch, a rubber washer fell apart. do you have a diagram i can look at and where do i get that washer?

Could be a short between tailight wire and break light wire. Also i know u said not switch..so just remove connector to switch for gp and see what happens. :)

1999 Toyota Corolla Seca - hatchback. the tail

If you put your foot on the brake, the tail lights and parking lights will still come on. Possibly your brake is sticking. Check to see if it is and if it is put WD40 for a quick fix. See a tech for them to fix your brake alignment. Good Luck!
