Could be a number of things. Might be a bad fuel pump relay. I had the same problem on my tj. Does it restart right away? does the check engine light come on?

How much do you think a repair for the evap on a 2002 jeep liberty sport . Cause engine light keeps coming on

There are allot of reasons that cause an fuel evaporative emissions control system code to be set, it is very time consuming to track them down, so the cost is almost all labor, and that on average is about $200.00 + what ever part is needed.

Looking to adjust the idle on the jeep liberty sport v6/3.7? looking for location

wow no year stated, not that is a challenge.
there is no such thing, the PCM is hard coded for all idle speeds.
hard coded !@ (page 1 in FSM , under topic IDLE)
and by LAW. (usa answers, here on usa forum)
why not post the reason.?
(running a wench? )
idle is wrong, not spec. (800 is typical or faster on A/c On)

in fact the PCM works overtime holding idle at spec.
shift that A/t to DRIVE, see the idle hold to spec and not drop.
bingo. a working IAC/ISC idle control system (its a servo loop system)
tell more, get more.

Lose belt on Jeep Liberty 2007 4x2 3.7L V6.

Most Jeeps use the power steering pump to adjust belt tension. there is a slide bracket at the bottom and a pivot bolt on top. adjustment is made by tightening a bolt at the end of the lower bracket. I have also seen this arrangement used on an idler pulley right below the pump but I may be thinking of some other vehicle.

2002 Jeep Liberty shuts off

Could be a faulty fuel pump. As the pump warms up, when you have a faulty fuel pump they will tend to seize up. When it fails check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge and see what it reads.
