Check your fuel pressure regulator. its on your fuel rail. after you have had it runningpull the vacum line off of the fuel pressure reg and if you see fuel there its bad and needs to get changed and that being bad will cause a hard starting problem

Try the crank sensor. it may be on a recall. depends on the drivetrain.

Fuel pump doesnt start up every time-2004 chev malibu

The fuel pump is turned by the PCM - engine computer controlling a relay . When you turn the key on ,not trying to start it , just on ,the pcm will only energize the fuel pump for two seconds . This is just to prime the fuel system. When cranking the engine the PCM will only energize the fuel pump relay if it sees an input from the crankshaft position sensor . Test the fuel pump electrical circuit .

2 Answers I get fuel to the first filter in my 2005 ford f250 6.0

Not to be a jerk, but you look in the manual. If you don't have one, you order one from any number of online suppliers who will sell you one. I did that for my 2003 Chevy Silverado pickup. If you're going to keep the car, you will eventually need it anyway. . .

2003 Envoy have to crank two or three time before it will start

Have you changed your fuel filter lately? How about a tune up. Those are the things I would look at first and also check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge to make sure the fuel pump is not getting weak.

I change my fuel pump for the third time, but this time I put in the original factory one, but my truck won't start and I check for pressure of the fuel filter but it won't squirt out gas. Do I need to...

First off you can simply check a fuel pump with a 9 volt battery by hooking up the negative end with one side of the battery and the positive with the other side. After making sure its working you check it with the vehicle. If theres no power this means either you have a short somewhere, or your fuel pump relay has gone out. I don't believe the pump would need to be primed, I would recommend making sure you are getting fuel to the filter or fuel injector rail/carburetor before trying to start it repeatedly.

I have a 96 dodge dakota 4-wheel drive 3.9 engine automatic pickup i have changed out one outside coil one on the outside of the motor the other underneath the rotary bug. I changed out the rotary bug...

take off dist cap.turn rotor one way then the other. if the tip of the rotor moves more than 1/16 of an inch of free travel then the block bushing is worn out. the block bushing is bronze and it holds the oil pump drive shaft in perfect alignment. when worn the cam and oil drive shaft get cocked causing the oil pump drive gear teeth to wear off, sometimes cam gear is also damaged but rarely.the dist. is driven off the oil pump drive shaft and when there is exessive play it causes ignition and fuel timing problems with symtoms just like yours

How to take apart a fuel pump on a 2003 chev cavalier

I have an 03 cavi and it wouldnt start so i took the fuel pump out and pluged it back in and turned the key to the on position and the fuel pump works so i think it might just be the pick up filter. Im going to take the fuel pump appart and see whats up.

My 2001 gmc sierra wont turn on first crank anymore it takes two or three times.. sounds like its running out of gas but its not

have the fuel pressure tested, I believe the fuel pump needs to be above 45psi for the engine to start.
you might want to replace the fuel filter yourself to see if this would make a difference. it could be plugged.

Hard to start

Fuel pump is a possible cause but I would check the ignition timing first.
