Question about 1991 Toyota 4Runner

1 Answer

Are the parts from a 1990 toyota 4 runner interchangeable with a 1991 4 runner? I'm not looking to swap the engine, just the exhaust system, power window motors and such.

Most parts from 90-95 will interchange. also, alot of parts from the pickups during those years are interchangeable with the 4runner.

Does truck have to be running on my 1990 toyota 4-runner 4x4 ?

No, you can do it without the engine running. The power assist just makes braking easier. Just make sure you don't move the pedal till the bleeder is tight, then pump it back up an do it again. Start at the right rear and move towards the front left. Hope this helps.

I went looking for a used engine for my 1990 toyota forerunner and the only engine i have found in tact so far was a 1988. Which engine years are compatible to the 1990 toyota forerunner sr5 6 cylinder.

The engine is right but the sensers and manifolds aren't likly to be right. Strip your engine to the longblock and install all those parts on the other engine and it'll work OK. or consider buying a reman long block

Looking to buy a '95 toyota 4 runner. when test

Yes, Bill you are wise to be worried. It may be a simple fix and it may cost over $1,000 to repair. Walk away from this vehicle. There are plenty more out there without this type problem.
