What kind of Fuel do i fill up at the pump for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

my guess it cranks ok.
fuses ok
immobilizer not active, SKIS/SKIM.?
so compression is at spec.
and if it is ,test fuel diesel works?????
Glow plugs work? (we measure current)
then filters
then pump
scan pcm for errors, not all errors glow the silly CEL lamp.

The seal at the fuel pump is not seated correctly, or the filler hose is leaking. take it back.

When they sputter it is mostly the fuel pump. One way to check is hit the bottom of the tank in the center. The vibration will jar the pump and most times they will start pumping again. This is not a fix, you still have to replace the pump. This is just an easy way to make sure your changing the right part.

If your vehicle stall and restart then your problem will reside with the idle air control, a good throttle body will remove the carbon build up,

on the 2000 jeep cherokee fuse diagram was not included. makeing it hard in case of a short curcuit. fuse # 11 is a 20 amp. for the fuel pump relay. 97 to 2001 jeep cherokees. hope this helps !

all late model cars have fuel pump in the gas tank.
have to drop the tank under the car to get to it.

Have either one of you tried a CAMSHAFT sensor? If not I would say that would be your best bet. A lot of mechanics overlook this part because it is built in to the distributer and they don't understand how vital this part is. Oh and don't let them charge you for the whole distributor assembly either. Just go to the local delership and grab one yourself. Hope this helps!

I would look for a loose or ruptured fuel filler neck on the fuel tank, At the right height when 3/4 full

TRy to put a can of SEAFOAM in the tank to see if it will clear the probe up???? It sounds like trash is around to sensor and it might need to be cleaned???? Cheeep fix to try.
