Question about 2004 Oldsmobile Alero

1 Answer

When I started the car, it sounded like it was missing and the car was vibrating. The engine light came on. There was no power when I tried to drive it. I'm guessing it's one of the coils. Any ideas?

Sounds like a regular cylinder miss.
Is the check engine light on ?
Its also possible you have a pulley or something out of balance.

2010 ford fusion vibration at idle and acceleration.

Chances are its a minor miss in one of the cylinders. You don't feel it neutral at idle or until the trans goes into overdrive because those times the engine is not working very hard.
If it is a miss fire the check engine light will come on when it gets bad enough to affect fuel mileage.
If you have not yet changed the plugs I would start with that. There is also a chance you damaged the engine when it overheated.

The car vibrates when in drive while at a stop. What would cause this ?

Vibration at idle brings to mind a few suspects:

transmission mount(s) broken/missing
transmission internally worn
motor mount(s) broken/missing

(1) transmission internally worn or transmission mount broken/missing - test this by shifting into neutral at the next stop light. If the vibration disappears when you disengage the transmission, then the transmission is the source of the vibration. You'll have to inspect the transmission mounts - if they're ok, then the transmission is internally worn and can no longer smoothly "slip" while idling in drive.
(2) motor mount broken/missing - also test this by shifting into neutral at the next stop light. If the vibration persists, then the transmission is exonerated, and the vibration is coming from (under) the engine. The rubber part of motor mounts commonly crack/break and or pop out and are lost.

Idles rough lack of power when driving and vibrates, i changed fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, mass air flow sensor, oxygen sensor ,and tps sensor and had no luck. any suggestions?

I imagine that the check engine light is on and if so what are the trouble codes? Sounds like a miss in at least one cylinder. If you provide me with the 8'th character in the vin # and codes if any, I'll try to be of more help.

I have a 2006 BMW 550i. This morning my Engine Service light came on. While I was backing out of the drive way I noticed I had a lot front end vibration in the engine area which never happens. As I started...

Sounds like its missing on one cylinder. Could be a failed plug or a blocked injector, or something more serious.

Call your dealer, who will likely suggest that you bring or more likely tow the car to them.

The dealer can scan the ECU for a fault code which will point to an accurate diagnosis.

check your camshaft and crankshaft sensors. When defective, it may cause stalls, misfires, loss of power. Also have check the engine for vacuum leaks. Hopefully this helps!!
