Check the choke when cold. When its hot take notice that its opened. Upon starting next time when its cold look at the choke and see if its closed fully. It should be. If not push the throttle all the way open and let it retract closed. The choke should close when the engine is cold. If it does not the vacuum break is shot which should be the rear one that controls the choke. Yours may be on the front since some are but very few are made on the front

tdc is usually set at 8 degrees BTDC for an automatic and 4 BTDC for a manual transmission. This may help. Does the engine run rough at start up being set at 0TDC?

1970 Chevy 350 in C30 truck dies when warm

You need to find oput what you loose when the truck shuts off, all you need is Air, Fuel , and spark to run one of the three are droppuig out when it stalls and will not run. Chech the carb for gas it sounds like you have a weak fuel pump.

1999 chevy 350 runs rough at idle. #4cyl misfire. light gray build up on spark plug. compression good 180.

You either have a bad spark plug wire or coil pack. The light gray color on plug is normal.

Rough idle warm up or cold

The carb may be able to be rebuilt but those old *** carbs where not very good to start with. The Weber application is a great one and will last a very long time you can also get a kit for a holley if you want to get more performance. The engine in your truck will last forever as you already know but it will start leaking oil on the front side of the engine. When this happens the tech will try to replace the pan gasket but the problem will be the front main seal. When this happens have the tech change the timing chain at same time and you will save a fortune.

Rough idle until warm 22r

if it is a carburated engine it is probably the a.a.p. diaphragm in the carb. if you remove the air cleaner and look on the side of the carb that is towards the valve cover near the front yow will see a vacuum hose going to a cover that is fastened with 3 screws. if you pull the vacuum line off you will see that there is probably fuel being sucked into the line due to the leaking diaphragm. the vacuum source is temp controlled and cuts off when warm. but when cold sucks fuel directly into the intake. remove the 3 screws to replace the diaphragm, being carefull of the spring. good luck!

I have a 1989 chevy silverado 4x4 with a 350, it ran great for ever until now. It starts up, runs rough for a few seconds then just quits, it will do this 10 times in a row then start just fine and run...

Did the problem start when the fuel pump was replaced? It could be some kind of obstruction in the fuel line or a fuel filter acting up - needing replaced, or the filter on the fuel pump somehow didn't get installed correctly. Spend $20 and get a Haynes Repair Manual from Auto Zone to show you step by step instructions with pictures how to troubleshoot just about anything for your make and model.
