I have a 2001 GMC Yukon that will not shift into four wheel drive. I can hear the click, when I push the button and the light blinks but it will not remain solid and I dont think I should drive it without the light remaining light

It sounds to me like the motor that switches the transfer case into 4 wheel drive DO NOT try to put it in 4 wheel. There should be no problem driving it as it is but if you continue to try it may get stuck in between and cause major problems

Cant get out of four wheel drive

If your truck has a dashboard push-button 4x4, then carefully disassemble and clean with Q-tips and alcohol. when 4x4 lights turn off, drive in reverse over 15 feet. Good luck.

It seems like it is not fully disengaging from 4 wheel drive, and it won't shift into overdrive. i hear the front end roaring going down the road.

possibly a transfer case motor problem make suer you are in 2 wheel drive, try shifting button from 4 wheel to 2 wheel drive and make sure your tow haul switch is off on the end of the regular shiter

4x4 will not engage in 96 gmc yukon

I just fixed a friend of mines 96 yukon...shift to neutral press 4H and u can hear the actuator make noise (we even replaced it with a new one his idea and the same thing happen as old one), so as he hit the switch for 4H i layed under it (on 4 jack stands) and I could hear the motor on the transfer case make a loud noise (well thats working) and before all this I asked him did u check all your fuses (he said guarnteed to be all good) one night it was bothering me so i looked through the owner manual for the yukon and in the fuse box on driver side by the door there are (2) fuse for the 4wheel drive unit, pull one of the fuses good...pulled the other one and it was blown put in a new fuse and it works like brand new..pull fuse for anything that has to do with 4 wheel drive componants,
