Locate the washer reservoir and at the bottom of that is the pump. With a volt meter, unplug the plug in connector and have somebody press the washer in car. There should be around 12 volts at the plug with the motor not running. If the is you can go to the auto parts store and get a new pump. Easy to install but you will probably will lose the contents of reservoir when you take the old one out. So either catch it or be ready to replenish it with new.

If there is no power at the plug check fuse box for bad fuse. If that isn't the problem then the switch is bad, and needs to be replaced.

Hope that helps.

1) Have somebody else activate the wipers, and listen closely to the pump, to see if it runs. If it doesnt run, check that the connector receives 12 volts when activated, if it doesnt, its an electrical problem, that can go all the way back to the steering column stalk. If it does make a noise, then in all probability the hose from pump to winshield became unpurged, clogged, or twisted. To purge it, you will have to fill the hose with water manually, until you see water come out of the nozzles. If this doesnt work, then the pump impeller is broken, and the pump must be replaced.

Winshield washer quit

Check and tighten the engine firewall connector that all cab wiring exits through. I suggest you loosen the large connector and then reinsert, it may have water intrusion.

I have a 2007 chevy impala. I replaced the windshield washer pump and checked/replaced the fuse. I get a 12V spike to the pump when trying to wash the window and then no voltage. Is there a relay som

there is no relay.
- check if there is dirt in the water tank which might stuck the pump and blow the fuse.
- also check all cables to the windshield washer pump if they are damaged and cause a short somewhere.
- or the wiper switch in the dashboard might be faulty?

Winshield washers dont work

there is a pump, usually mounted in, on, or near your washer fluid tank. It should have a fuse. If all else fails, your switch could be faulty.

Is there a fuse fot the windshield washer pump on a 2007 chevy impala and if so where is it

there is a fuse for the windshield washer pump. It is located in the under the hood fuse box.The fuse is near the bottom marked WSW. Look in the manual for fuse box (under hood) I read that Chevy recommended repacing the 10 amp fuse with a 15amp. There are spare fuses in the bottom of the fuse box(labeled in the manual) and there is a 15 amp. I changed mine in 3 minutes and now it works. Hope I helped.

My window washer switch seems to be broken. I recently filled it with washer fluid, but it wouldn't spray or wipe the winshield. Tonight, for an experiment, I hit it with the palm of my hand and it...

the washer pump is inside the bottom of the reservoir. If it worked on being smacked, I assume someone was inside holding the button, then I would take a shot at pulling the pump's electrical connector plug off and giving the male and female parts of the connector a good dousing with WD40 or any other moisture replacing anti-corrosive solvent. You could simply have a bad connection.

grab a test light if ya have one handy and have it grounded to the someone sit in the vehicle while the key is in the run position (but not having the engine running) and have them try to engage the wiper washer while they are engaging it touch the electrical connector for the washer pump ans see if it light s up it should on one prong.....if it lights up then pretty darn good shot that it's just the pump motor itself...get back to me...
