Question about 2005 GMC Sierra
My 1997 chevy siverado z71 won't turn over. just replaced the headlight switch. I noticed that when the truck was running fine, the head lights didn't turn on when i started it. But now the headlights turn on when i turn the key 1 step, but the engine won't turn over. I hear the click from the starter relay. My battery gauge says around 10 volts, but i've had the battery connected to another car(showd 14 volts) and still no turn over.
I would unhook the headlight switch for now to see if maybe you recieved a bad one,
Also listen for the fuel pump to come on for three seconds. If the pump never turns on then you may of created a security lockout if the truck has this feature.
Can't believe what you did created this problem unless the battery is being drawn below 9.6 volts when you crank. If you have a voltage meter the battery has to maintain a pretty good 11.5v or better when cranking
Dirty battery terminals can cause issues too. Inspect them and clean
