Question about 2006 Kia Spectra
I have a 2006 Kia Spectra and I too am having a problem with the blower turning on and off. I thought this was a fuse problem origionally, so a week ago I installed a new blower fuse in the engine compartment (thinking it could possibly be that simple). For a couple days, it seemed to work, only to have the same thing happen again! Now it won't even turn on. I called Kia and spoke to their service department. I asked if others had experienced this problem. I was told that because of the mileage (75,000) that it was no longer under warranty. Even worse ... just to troubleshoot this problem is about $165.00! Has anyone been successful in resolving this problem? I wonder how many other Kia owners are affected by this defect?
I had this problem had to replace the blowers wiring harness was90 new or get used one from salavage yard same price with blower easier to fix

I too have had this problem and if you tap the blower on your heater below your passenger side dash your blower will come on. I found that the problem with mine is a loose wire in the wiring harness going to the blower. It seems to be a easy fix, find which wire is ground and that will be your coulprete. yeah kia's dealerships **** ! trust me I know!

I'm having a similar problem. I contacted the manufacturing department and they said the same thing. I then contacted the national highway and traffic associaton and make a report. In order for them to issue a recall they need more people to call in. The number is 18883274236. Please call and help get this recall in action! Kia needs to be held responsible for this defect.

I have a 2006 Spectra and have to "kick" under the dash to get mine to work! Yes, I know this is a bad idea...but I live in the desert and it's freakin hot here! Until I get the money to replace or repair the problem...it works. I have more issues with this car than any car I've ever owned....

I have similar problem too.... 1 day it was working fine then the next it quit working...... I looked at the motor and the cover seems to me riveted to the dash/ motor...... I stopped at advance auto parts and had them run the computer on it nothing showed up, but the guy told me that it is either the resister or the motor could be bad....... but he also said that usually when the resister goes bad that certain speeds go out first.......

I had the same problem too. But it started working after a particularly rough downshift. Must've been something loose.
