I had the same problem and this is an instrument panel problem that Chevy has a recall and will provide the service and parts to replace at no charge. Go to your dealer.

I have a97 chevy c1500 the fuel gauge never worked,so i put a new sending unit in still dont work gauge reads past full @all times can anyone help

Your problem with you fuel gauge is not the sending unit or the gauge in the cluster. You have a broken ground wire in the the harness that goes to the sending unit. look for broken wires or wires that have bin picked with a test light they will have corrosion

Oilpressure gauge troubleshooting

run a mechanical oil pressure test, if it agrees with gauge then it is a mechanical condition, if nor check for defective sending unit. typically sending units go out more often than guages go out.

Oilpressure gauge indicates low to almost no oil pressure

You may want to hook up an external oil pressure gauge
to the engine to ease your mind. This would give you a regular number of the pressure. Compare it to the factory gauge in the dash. Those in dash gauges were not all that precise. If the engine is not having bearing noise I can see nothing to worry about.

I have 1993 pontiac bonnevilleone it cold got good oilpressure but one it wams up i loose the oilpressure an if it was a bearing iwould have anykind of oilpressure

It is the rods,and or main bearings,no they will not always make a noise,you may have to use a bottle of lucas,and four quarts of 20w 50 motor oil,to help it,and it will,I just do not know how much it will help.If you are going by the oil light,or the oil gauge on the dash,be sure the oil sending unit is not at fault,sometimes they leak when they are bad,but not always,so be sure it is not that,and that the oil filter is not bad,if the crankcase is full of oil build up,the oil screen could be part the way stopped up,restricted,this would cause this also.

Oilpressure gauge on dash reads quite low should I worry

Take a pressure reading at the sensor port with a mechanical gauge to see if it is a gauge problem or a sign of bearing looseness or worn oil pump problems within the engine. You can improve the reading by running a heavier weight oil, but in cold winter, that causes problems with starting. Is the vehicle worth rebuilding or replacing the engine? One solution is finding an engine in a wrecking yard that they will give a guarantee for performance and oil burning. Another option is a re-manufactured short-block that replaces the worn internals, but requires moving all external devices from the old engine to the new. Good fix, but expensive. Good luck!

I am not 100% familiar with the engine you have. Being a mitsu 4-cylinder, I'm assuming it's the 2.4L (aka 4g64).

I ran into a few problems in the past with the oil sending units on Mitusbishi engines. The oil sending unit(or oil pressure switch) sends the reading to the gauge inside the car. They have one prong and a small wire that goes to them. It's easy for these to get knocked off or damaged. That is the first thing I would check.

If you're not sure where that switch is located, you can check out this diagram (Mitsubishi Engine manual). Look at the diagrams on page 8 or 9(depending on which engine you have). They will show you where the oil pressure switch should be located.

Oil pressure gauge 2000 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 6cyl.

It's probably the oil pressure switch. I have to replace min every 5 years or so because it does the same thing. Mine is mounted next to the filter on my '93. It's a little black thing with a plug in the end. You can get one at autozone for about $40.
