Van blowing cold air

It has air in the line. let ir idle with the radiator cap off for a little while and the air will work its way out. You may have bigger issues, but I do not think you need to clean heater core because you get heat sometimes. Do you see a lot of bubbles when you take the radiator cap off when running, head gasket if so.. You can take the cap loose while the engine is running, but not after you stop it, it will be to hot. Good luck

80 cherokee defroster doesn't work

It could be one of a couple of things. First, make sure all of the vacuum lines are good. The blower motor makes the air move, but its vacuum that sends it where you want it to go. The vacuum lines start at the control head and go to the different blend air doors. Either go under the dash, if you can access them that way, or remove the control head from the dash to inspect the lines. Make sure your engine vacuum lines are good also. If all that checks out, check the air duct tubes. They could very well be cracked and torn from many years of use.

93 Celica - oil light is on and there is a ping in the head. There is oil in the car but it does not seem to be getting up to the head. Air in the line? Blockage? If so, what do I do about it?

If your oil light is on, DO NOT run your engine. The oil light is lit due to insufficient or NO oil running through the oil pump. Possible cause may be excessive sludge build-up, clogged oil pick-up screen, worn oil pump, clogged oil ports through out the engine. Have the engine inspected and cleaned out, also i recommend replacing the oil pump. hopefully this helps

2004 rav4 Air con compressor rins for 1 second then cuts out.

With the new pressure switch, you may have found a new problem, it sounds like your compressor may be going off on high head pressure, or something similar like a clogged line. That is about the best thing I can think of unless the compressor itself is having internal problems. If its cooling, then it may be a temp sensor on your coil, or line if you have one.
