I have a 2007 A4 that had similar issue - driver door controls didn't work, including windows, locks, trunk etc as well as the interior dome light stayed on. Couldn't open windows from any of the other doors but the lock function worked on all except the drivers. I expected it was the convenience control module - however it wasn't! Much simpler - it was a wire that runs through the driver door through the pillar. Mine was the brown (ground) wire. It is quick thick and stiff. Over time with the repeated bending it broke. Put in some new wiring and presto like new. What I thought was going to cost a thousand or more was fixed for free. I don't get to say that too often.

This could be a problem with the convenience control box aparently they suffer from water in and arround the area of the convenience control box First thing to do is lift the carpet and underlay in the passenger front footwell. then remove the plastic trims to make it easier.Locate a black plastic box and open it up to inspect the c/d/lock window control module. You may find it has water in it along with the wiring that runs along the floor to the n/s/f door pillar.Worth a look i suppose...hope that helps

One of the rear doors on my 2006 Audi A3 keeps setting itself to child's lock, so the door remains unlocked on the outside. What should I do?

You may have to replace the lock module on the door or the switch on the driver's side that locks the windows if they're connected to the child lock? Normally the child lock is a manual lever on the inside edge of the opened door.
Check your owner's manual. If the physical lever keeps moving you'll have to get inside the door and find out why it won't stay in position.

Hazard light and interior lights problem on 2001 A3

the indicator lights flashing constantly might be a warning from the car that all the doors have not been closed properly

after writing this ^^ i think that the system that tells the car if the door is open or closed it damaged or broken
and needs replacing

try leaving all the doors open and lock the car do the indicator lights flash contantly?

you need to get a dianostics done but due to the reson that it is intermmitant the problem will not exist when you get to the garage

check all the sensors that tell the car if the door is open firstly

1999 Audi A3 1.8T Electric Windows and Central Locking Won't work

will your passenger door open with the key and is it just one side that your windows are not working or both. if its just one side it might be your regulator motor in the door thats not working if its both it might be your central locking pump usually in the boot. however if both of them are working fine it could be that your key needs reprogrammed however i think the 1st 2 are more likely to be the problem.

Central locking and windows unusable due to leak

I've been dealing with similar problems (windows and sunroof dead, power locks iffy, dome light doesn't work, random chiming) and best I can figure is:

a) get rid of the leak and any standing water
b) depending on the year of your car check the relays and/or central locking module

I spent a lot of time checking the ECU and door interior parts and those were both dead ends. I also thought the standing water on the floor might be shorting actual wiring, but now I've eliminated that as well. Although my alarm hasn't been going off, the "door chime" has and the instrument cluster sometimes shows 3 or 4 doors open while driving. VAG-COM showed some alarm trip type faults as well. Central locking is my next move when I've got some time.

Audi fault code J386 (2002)

There's a TSB on that problem. It involves broken wires in the A and B pillar from the central convenience module to the rest of the car. Ask your VW dealership or what not for a more specific answer.
