Question about 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI
It is either your thermostat or your head gasket, my guess is that your thermostat is stuck closed and needs to be replaced

Turn your car on and stand outside let it idle for around 5 mins and you should hear your water pump kick in if not it could be your thermostat or possibly it could be that the coolant has frozen if it is just ionised water not coolant(not trying to insult your intelligence but it is a common mistake)
