Question about 2003 Land Rover Freelander
We replaced rear window tailgate cables on my 2000 Freelander. The rear window was in the up position. We pressed the window down and it went down. We pressed up and the window stayed in the down position. Is the motor bad? Do we need to recalibrate? Why is the window stuck in the down position?
Firstly check the wiring then motor is only working one way that means that the power is not being reversed to put it back up, switch the wires around from the switch if it go's back up then you know there is a wiring fault.
hope this helps

The L/R Handbook explains what needs to be done if and when the battery is replaced or disconnected/reconnected. From what you have said, it seems that you need to try the recalibration as per refitting the battery.
