I know a relay is a switch but they are rated for how many amps they can handle. Ie you cant run 40 amps thru a 20 amp relay

A relay should not draw amps it is only a switch. (OK perhaps a .02millivolt drop between the "in" volts and "out" volts) You should have 12volts or better (running voltage) at the pump harness connection and a good ground.

A relay is a switch. An amperage rating pertains to something that USES electricity. A switch (relay) is a mechanism that re-directs power...it does not use it. The electro magnet in the relay is checked by reading ohms resistence and continuity, not amps. A light bulb, electric motor etc draws amperage, not a relay.

Replaced fuel pump and it keeps popping out why?2003 jeep wrangler

Does it lose power under acceleration? When you changed the pump did you change the strainer also? You should change the fuel filter if you have not done so. The other thing to check would be the fuel pressure regulator.

How many amps does the fuel pump on a 2003 jeep wrangler draw and what should the relay be rated at

A top fuel engine isn't your backyard "hot rod" (block alone is worth more than three of whatever you are driving)
And, I ran several shops that all boasted a less than 2% "come-back" rate with regards to not having fixed the problem the first time. (try and find a shop that can say that)

97 Jeep Wrangler, Not getting fuel. I changed the Fuse, Don't know where the fuel pump relay is. Had fuel pump replaced One year ago.

Having the fuel pump just replaced that morning doesn't mean that isn't the problem. Check it! The fuel pump relay is a good place to start though. The relay, and a few others, are in a box under the hood. Can't remember exactly where, but shouldn't be hard to locate. Try one of the other identical relays in the box (swap them) and see what you can find out.You need to answer a couple of questions. Is the fuel pump getting power/activating/working? Is the fuel pump getting fuel? The answers and the specifics around the answers lead to some other troubleshooting to try.

Check your relays. Find where you've got power and where it stops... you'll find the problem. Good Luck. "It's always something simple."

1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L Fuel Pump/Check engine light

Could be one of several items...I'd check the fuel pump relay, auto shutdown relay and the ignition switch itself. I'd bet on it being one of those relays but, we all have been fooled at least once!!! I'd also make sure that body and engine grounding is good and clean. Relays can't work properly without a good ground.
