Seems like you may have already removed the belt. Normally the belt is left tensioned in order to give enough resistance to break the bolt free and remove the pulley. Otherwise you need to figure out a way to prop something against the pulley and the engine block to allow you to remove the bolt.

Toyota Camry 1993 4 cyl water pump failing, have removed thermostat, considering Electric inline pump as replacement as option ? Please advise me of pro's and con's.

i owned the 1995 4 cyl wide body camry till the cooling system failed in heavy traffic and over heat stripped out the head bolt threads in the block

the toyota camry engine designation is a 5S-FE

water pump is driven by timing belt
behind timing belt covers
they have to be removed to get to the water pump

normally timing belt, seals ,tension er pully and water pump are replaced at the same time ..comes in a kit

i dont have the 5S-FE cooling system hot under pressure specs

so I cant answer which inline electric pump pressure is required to work on the 5S-FE

How do i remove timing belt cover on 2000 toyota camry 4 cylinder 2.2 litre? i notice the securing bolts around the perimeter. do i access some of these from the wheel bay?

See here for info, p26 and 242.

This is for an earlier year model, but is for the 2.2L engine.

You will have to remove the crank pulley, timing belt covers and timing belt, for best access. Unless it is fairly new, I would replace the belt wile you are at it.

Sir, I have replaced my water pump, and timing belt on my Toyota Camry Le,97,I have tryed to start it but I cannot start it.what could be the problem. John.

check the timing belt it may not been install correctly out of timing make sure the engine is TDC (TOP DEAD CENTER) . Some cases if the belt is not tensioned right it would slip out of timing.

Not sure what engine you have but its a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinders, to do this waterpump the timing belt should also be done as the waterpump is run off the timing belt here are some diagrams for both engines to show you the waterpump good luck and hope this helps.42d8575.gifdbdba21.gif9c882d4.gif364fb16.gif

Yesterday I took my 2000 Toy camry 4 cylinder ,in for new timing belt and water pump. I see they have replaced the pump. but Im suspicious about the belt. Is there a way for me to visually check myself?

Will I'am not sure how you can see the water pump, because the water pump is in back of the timing belt cover and sit in the lower part of the front of the engine, the lower timing cover would have to be remove to see the water pump. about the only way you can check the timing belt, is to remove the two small bolts 10mm, on the top of the timing cover, open it a little with a screw driver and you will see the timing belt, hope this was very helpful.

Im replacing timing belt, accessory belts and water pump on my hyundai elantra gls 1997 sta wgn auto transmission. (1)Where is bolt to drain engine block coolant?(2)After removing front engine mountin

(1) No need to know if engine block coolant drain plug was available. Once the water pump was removed, all engine block coolant was drained. (2) After removing the three engine mounting bracket bolts, I also removed the mount bracket from the the body and made enough room to replace the timing belt easier.
