Someone mentioned that tranny fluid can seep into the pin connector where it is mounted(common with caravan transmissions) and lose its connectivity to the computer, apparently when this happens it will pop trans into neutral as a safety precaution. If u clean it out and pack it with die-electric grease, this may solve the problem. Does this make any sense????

I can shift into drive but it won't engage

sounds like a broken shift cable. (the connection between the shifter and the gearbox) common symptoms are the shifter move easier than normal.and does not move to any gears (not even park or neutral).

I have a 1994 gmc yukon and im having trans issues just changed the trans pan and seal thinking dirty fluid. Well it manual shift 1-2 than over drive than it seems its over idling and like im in...

you are right to think it is a sensor. trash can get into the shift solenoids and make a trans act funny. you could drop the pan and replace the solenoids located in the back of the valve body.

1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2 liter, auto, 2 wheel Trans ran perfectly ...then stopped shifting from second to third. wouldn't change gears, even manually. i checked all connections into trans, checked trans...

1999 dodge 1500 5.2 will not shift to second once the engine reaches normal temperture or I shift from drive to nutural and back to drive then it will work fine untill the next time I stop. filter, fluid, shift slenoid, governor sensor have been replaced.

It has nothing to do with the transmission, it's your engine mount thats bad.

Computer is telling trnny to shift when it shouldn't

you have a mechanical fault in the trans or a poss shift solenoid issue, most tranny shops will road test the truck for free and give you an estimate and prelimiary estimate.

1999 expedition clunks when in Auto 4wd on slippery pavement.

That sounds like play in your rear end, it usually happens to all RWD vehicles at some point in their life, and also, check your U-joints, and tranny fluid. If low on fluid, your trans can slip causing a lag in shift.

Trans clunking when slowing down

Sounds like youi may have a few serious problems going on to have that kind of back lash occuring at higher speeds. I have experiance with low spped clunks on Bronkos and your type of vech being a car dealer. One you might try for low speed clunk on take off and braking at stop likts just completeing a stop? Pull the drive shaft and lubricate the splin - two check your leaf springs for weakness and wore bushings - take a look at your shocks - three u bolts holding springs to rear axle housing may be letting the axle housing actually dip or tweak or all those thing in combination - now you may have some serious slop in the pig - transfer case may be causing that clunk - as far as high spped clunk and activity you have a serous problem and you just might drop the transferr case have an accident fliping over..............Mike South Bend Indiana don't just keep driving and making problem worst...........
