Question about 1985 Chevrolet Chevy

Chevy s 10 2.8 liter pickup won't start. getting fire and fuel to injectors, but when ready to start, fuel doesn't spray out of injectors.

Can be clogged althoug its rare to see all clogged up. The computer sends a signal for each injector to open so the computer can be bad. That is the only two choices there are if fuel delivery to the injectors are there. Did you check the ignition coil and ignition module as well? These two items control the spark to the plugs for ignition

I have an 1987 Chevy with throttle body fuel enjection I have a new fuel pump and new fuel filter I have fuel coming up at the throttle body when I crack the lines but the injectors arnt spraying fuel


I suggest changing the pickup in the distributor. This is what fires the injectors. If you have a noid light you can check for pulse at the injector, but my guess is there is nothing signaling the injector to fire.

1997 chevrolet C1500 pickup with a 5.7 liter (VIN code R). The engine cranks but will not start. I have tested the fuel system with a fuel pressure test gauge at the fuel rail and get a 40 PSI read

I have a 97 s10 just swaped 2.2 motors both ran going in to the shop now it cranks and i have spark and fuel going to the rail but wont start if you spray starting fuild it starts on it then dies


If you have fuel at the rail, and a spark, then your problem is either a clogged fuel rail or clogged injectors. Try cleaning or replacing the fuel rail first, then the injectors if that doesn't work.

Have you sprayed fuel/starting fluid into the engine to see if it starts? You can have fuel pressure but no injector fuel delivery, we call this "pulse"

It sounds like your injectors are not firing which could be a crank signal problem or wiring,distributor pickup coil problem or a computer problem.One wire to your injector should be pink this is the power wire it should have around 11.5-12 volts with the key on. The other wire is ground that the computer uses to fire the injector which you can check with a good test light hooked to voltage. and work back from that point if you have neither at the injector.

No gas coming out the injector and there is gas pressure to the injector?


Is there an injector pulse going to the injector?(an electrical pulse to fire the injector).
Is there spark at the plugs?
If the pickup in the dist is faulty you won't have either one.
If your vehicle uses a crank pickup with or instead of dist pick up....if it is defective ....no pulse.
The above is 90% cause of no pulse....other is computer problem 10%.
If you do have a injector pulse and no spray.....and have fuel pressure....change the injector.
A quick check for spark is spray a little starting fluid in it.....if it starts on the fluid....spark is present.
