My 2000 Jetta VR6 will not start!!

My 2000 Jetta VR6 - manual trans - has not started for the past 6 days. The car turns over great. It is not creating any spark. Plugged in basic error code reader and it did not pick up any error messages on that - they said that the reader is not getting any signal from the car's computer.

Inside the transmission case above the pan. You should probably let a transmission mechanic handle this one.

I cannot get a manuel for a vr6

Bentley Publishing is the ONLY place that publishes a Repair Manual for the VR6 Engines. I called them about the manual, the book is about $70. and the CDRom is about $99. The one I checked on was for my 1998 VW Jetta VR6, the manual they are sending me goes from 1993 to 1999 and has 4 and 6 cylinders!

2000 VW Jetta VR6 My check engine light started flashing. My car was idleing very rough and missing. The parts store checked and the code showed misfire 1. We replaced the spark plugs. It runs a little...

You may have a bad coil pack - try moving two of them around and see if the misfire follows the coil pack or stays at the same cylinder. If it follows the coil pack, get a new one. If it stays in the same cylinder, inspect your spark plug wires and make sure the plug is gapped correctly.

Volkswagen jetta 2000 VR6

1.1 mm is the standard gap for a platinum tipped plug. Plugs for this car usually come pre-set but it's always worth checking before installing. Hope this helps.
