Go around to the front of the car and reach in from under the bottom of the car and you feel a spring at the top, pull the tab that is connected to the spring toward the driver side and your hood should pop up. I had the same problem and it worked like magic.

Release the hood handle lever if the cable is good and rapidly push your weight at the front corner to release to open. It maybe the hood adjustments at the front corners have gone bad. Many of these adjusters do go bad making it difficult to open your hood. The base of these adjusters simply fall out of there mounting area jambing up the hood release system

From under front of vehicle, lay under hood and remove the hood latch with a long extension and rachet. This works on most vehicles. God-Bless!

Safety catch on hood wont release and hood wont re latch!

I would check to see if the hood release moves when the inside lever is pulled then pushed, if not the cable and latch mechanism may need lubrication or be broken.

look under the hood on the firewall where the shift linkage comes through, the most likely cause is the rod popped off and needs to be re attached

I have a 1999 continental with a broken hood latch. the hood is closed and i cant open it. is there a way to open it short of cutting the hood or breaking the grille?

Yes and no. Some cars have a pin hole that you can go through to pop the hood, but you have to have the identical car standing by to see what you are doing. My daughter's mustang did the same thing. I found a little hole in the grill big enough for a coat hanger and it popped open. You have do some fishing though, and the lincoln might not have it, but it is worth a try. Hope this helps.

Where is the latch located to open the hood of a 05 navigator? I pop the hood from inside the car, but cannot locate the device to unlatch the hood.

The hood release once the hood has been popped is located on top of the RF headlamp.....pass front headlamp....lift the hood up a little bit then you can see it and then open the hood...Hope I could help!!!

94 lincoln continental fan belt broke do i need to take radiator off to repair if not what should i do

You should have a serpetine belt on your car for all pulleys.
There should be a diagram of the belt either on top of the front cowling apron(In front of the radiator) or under the hood in front by the upper locking hook.
You should not need to remove the radiator.

You will need a 3/8 or 1/2 inch rachet or breaker bar to move the idler pulley to slip on the belt. The idler pulley is spring loaded and keeps tension on the belt.
