Have your alternator and voltage regulator checked...most autoparts stores offer free diagnostic tests for your battery, alternator, and voltage regulator. If/when one or all test bad you can have them replaced right there!

My 99 magna running rough headlights flicker and go dull dash display how much fuel to empty no longer works only flashes number 5.has a popping sound also where spark plugs go is filling with oil

running rough and head lights flickering indicate an alternator not working properly and the vehicle is running off the battery
oil around the plugs is a bad "O" ring seal at the base of the tube under the plug

Sometimes the car won't start and the dash lights and the radio lights flicker

Best place to start is the positive lead on the battery . Remove the lead and clean battery pole and terminal using sand paper until you have shiny syrfaces. Replace the lead and tighten the terminal . Check the battery for charge condition as what you describe indicates a flat battery

I have a 2002 Ford Explorer with what appears to be electrical issues. I think it might be alternator or regulator but I'm wondering if it could be something else. Here's what happened. Several warning...

I would check your battery connections and if they are tight and clean check to see if your altinator is charging the battery it should have about 13.70 volts or more up to 14.80 volts.

2003 Pathfinder LE AT Oil Brake and battery light flicker

.I spent a lot of time and head scratching over the exact same problem ...YOU NEED A NEW REGULATOR (it is in the alternator).repair options are ;replace voltage regulator only , rebuild complete alternator , replace alternator with a rebuilt one , or replace alternator with a new one
The clue was getting diff. readings on your volt meter ....mine would spike up to 18 volts but you have to put your volt meter on and get yourself a cup of coffee (or a beer) and stare at your meter for atleast 15 minuits after the engine is heated up ....

Oil light on when hard braking or turning.

hi there this sounds to me like your oil level indicator is saying the oil is low, if this is not the case you need an oil change.
or to stop hard turns and hard braking lol.

Dashboard lights flashing. all of them.

I work for honda and have seen this often. Mostly on the newer vehicles (2008 and newer). we have always fixed this by replacing the insterment cluster. expensive yes but always fixed it. it in itself is a seperate computer so when it is replaced it will need to be initalized through the HDS
