Toyota tazz (conquest) 130 has a major oil leak. I have cleaned the engine; but cannot locate the leak. the exhaust is normal (does not smoke); the number one plug has some oil on it; but I think this is unlikely because the oil consumption is almost 1 litre per 200 km.

Has anyone had a problem with excessive oil consumption?

just about everyone does with either an old car or a new car with high mileage.how excessive? is oil consumption.well first thing is to check for oil leaks either underneath the motor or any oil lines feed into the motor .any major leaks would be pretty noticeable.if none are present then one would assume that your motor is burning the oil through the exhaust system .check to see what color smoke is coming threw the tail pipe.blue or black smoke indicates oil burning white will indicate engine coolant burning.in any case some color smoke is normal just depends on how much.so lets say your exhaust smoke is normal still could be burning oil just not a noticeable amount.on average you shouldnt have to add anymore than 2 quarts a month or every 1000 miles .depending on your driving conditions if you are having to add more than this there would be a leak some where or heavy color smoke.keep up on oil changes and always add lucas oil usually 1 quart its alot thicker than conventional oil so it reduces engine wear and will handle any small leaks in the engine components like the pistons and rings.if problem still present get to a dealer or certified mechanic as soon as possible good luck.

Piston fitting

Less power output. Car sluggish. Spark plug oily and need replacing more often. Engine breathing too much. Faulty compression ring will cause too much pressure in the sump. Leading to oil leaks at the sump, and or maybe at the rear and front main oil seals. Oil will also be visible at the air filter housing. Remove dipstick while car is idling. The pressure shoul be low. If too much fumes is visible. You might have failed compression rings. Valve stem seals or worn valve guides

there is no carb. in modern cars, unless...

what country are you in, cabs ended in 2006 in far from USA countries.
so that you? in S.Africa or some small Island in the Pacific running JDM cars?
quote, this you?
A facelifted version of the sixth-generation five-door hatchback was made in South Africa as an entry-level model called the Toyota Tazz from 1996 until July 5, 2006. The Tazz was offered as 130, and 160i. It was also sold as a panel van called the Carri. [4]
end quote.

why not post photo of engine.
or get the FSM on this car, factory service manual, at Toyota.
it covers all THAT.
if not a carb, you cant tune it, like a carb , you fix it.

my first idea> give it a tuneup, new spark plugs, filters.

My toyota tazz 2006 model is leaking oil from underneath ,i went to the mechanics and they removed the samp and put new gasket seal still its leaking.Every 2 weeks i have to buy 5 litres of oil

If its still leaking from the pan gasket then replace the pan and also check if the PCV positive crank case valve is NOT blocked as there could be lot of pressure building up in the engine.
