Question about 2000 Volkswagen Passat 4Motion

My car won't start. i brough t back to the dealer and they said it is the timing belt but they said they would prefer replacing a motor. Do you think I should have them replace the motor or should I just have the timing belt fixed?

If you have snapped a timing belt you have probably smashed valves etc. inside your engine which would probably cost you more than a replacement engine to fix. What happened the first time you noticed this?

I have a 95 honda civic ex,wont start.ran fine yesterday,wont start this morning.battery is fully charged,new cap and rotor.would do u think might b my problem

if it wont turn over 1st check the ground s on the car and the battery 1st. your battery can be fully charged and the car will not start even over night this can happen. then look at the starter. Note: if you have over 109K on the car and the timing belt has never been replaced you will need to have this checked as well.

Tiburon timing belt broke, replaced, won't start

Did you make sure you set cam & crank timing ? If the belt is off one tooth it will cause this. Recheck belt timing first.

Timing belt broke . installed new one ,now auto back fire's. won't start

Did you get it timed correctly? You don't just replace them like a fan belt, there is a procedure and marks that you line up. Your engine may be a non-interference or interference which means that if your timing belt breaks your pistons may hit your valves and cause major engine damage. Non-interference means that when the belt breaks it won't interfere and cause damage. Interference means that it will. I don't know what engine you have in your car but if you call a dealer and tell them what engine you have in your car they should be able to tell you if it is a non-interference or interference engine.

CAR STALLED. DISCOVERED TIMING BELT HAD BROKEN. REPLACED BELT. STILL WILL NOT START BUT WILL TURN OVER

It sounds like the timing is still off, which will not allow it to start, or you have a faulty cam, or crank sensor.
