Question about 2001 Dodge Caravan

I have a 2001 Caravan that won't turn over. It just makes a clicking sound. It will eventially turn over but there is no rhyme or reason as to why. It can go for days without a problem and then bang! Click. Click Click any suggestions would be appreciated.

2001 chevy blazer randomly won't start....no click or anything.....then will randomly will start

See if it has the double stacked positive cable ends at the battery, Sometimes one won't make a good connection, 1 goes to the starter the other feeds the rest of the electrical system, Also check make sure your ignition switch isn't going bad, NOT the key and tumbler but the electrical switch itself...Make sure your starter wiring is tight also..

Needs starter. The starter solenoid isn't engaging the armature in the starter to start car

My 2001 dodge grand caravan sport won't start

DOES THE VEHICLE MAKE ANY NOISE AT ALL WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED?, IF YOU GET A "CLICK" BUT NOTHING ELSE THEN THE STARTER IS JAMMED, GET A HAMMER & GIVE THE STARTER A FEW SOLID FIRM BUT NOT OVER ZEALOUS WHACKS, MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED & TURN THE KEY, IF ITS ANYTHING LIKE ALL THE CARS I'VE HAD OVER THE YEARS IT WILL MAGICALLY SPRING TO LIFE - IF IN DOUBT - GIVE IT A CLOUT!!

My car has been running fine. Starts each morning once to drive kids to school. An hour later for me to drive to work. But for the last two mornings won't start back up after working 4 hours. I noticed...

Sounds like the alternator is going out the slow way.
Youre kinda lucky because almoat all alternators go out without warning.
Most Autozone shops or places like it will run a test for free.
Good luck,Gary

yea agree but first listen when u turn the key, if the fuel pump makes some noise it means u have a problem with the starter! if no sound from the pump (sound should comes from the back seats) then its pump!

2000 Dodge Caravan tranmission started making a clicking sound only in 1st gear. Otherwise drives fine. What could be wrong?

you need to have the CV axle shafts checked, the clicking sound is the first sign of a bad one,you need to turn the steering wheel one way sharp wile accelerating, then the other way,so you can determine if left axle or right.

2001 grand caravan starting problem

You must be sure that the connections at the starter are sound. If they are o/k then check the current draw at the starter when the problem occurs. This can be done with a voltmeter attached to the battery and watch the voltage when someone is tryihg to start engine. If voltage drops to 10 volts or less that means the starter wants to turn. If voltage does not drop then it means the starter has a bad internal connection. Probably bad brushes. If this is what is wrong then starter replacement should occur

Glad too hear your making progress, sounds like your dealing with a reasonable shop too. For future reference, take notes when your vehicle acts up. The more information you cn give your technician the easier it is to be fixed. Good luck, let me know how you make out.
