SOURCE: citroen xantia fuel pump relay

If the pressure is up the pump will not cut in anyway! slacken off a fuel line to the injectors a little and drain a few cc of fuel out (it will evaporate fast) then try again, if the pump runs for a couple of seconds then look at the spark, if it doesnot the relay is above the fuses.

SOURCE: 2001 citroen c5 2.0 hdi temp light, engine stop light

Hi mate
In is possable you have a faulty coolant temp sensor.
This could be confirmed by having a diagnosis check done at a garage.
It might have 2 sensors fitted so if it needs them make sure you replace the right one

Citoen xsara keeps cutting out

Have the fuel filter changed most likely cure.
If not it could be numerous problems from fuel pumps to injectors, coil packs, spark plugs air filters etc
Try the fuel filter first if it isn't cured get a diagnostic check done by a garage.
Note petrol and diesel can have different causes also the fuel filter on a diesel is not a diy job.

Citroen c4 petrol engine will not pull from cold unless allowed to lie for 5minutes

Without being familiar with the Peugeot 405, I would assume it has fuel injection and a bad temperature sensor. Most sensors go to either 0 or infinite ohms resistance when bad, so an ohmmeter is necessary. A multi meter can be purchased from Harbor Freight for $3.

Other possibilities would be a lean mixture from a loose or cracked hose, clogged fuel filter, etc.

Replace transmission fileter, remove and clean idle air control valve, clean fuel injectors if you have them, change fuel filter, plugs, wires and distributor should solve the problem.
