It could be a couple of problems, first have you done the obviuse and checked the fues box for a blown fuse? if that is ok, turn on your wipers and listen to see if the motor is running on the wipers if it is, the linkage has poped off from the ball fitting , to check this open hood , and look for where the wipers connect and see if it is moving....hope this helps

96 bonivlle I was using wipers the other day when it was raining and went to adjust speed and now they r stoped in middle of my windshield. Any ideas?

This problem can be caused by both a defective wiper motor and a defective wiper speed control module. Both parts are failry expensive so I suggest you have the dealer or a GM savvy shop figure out which is defetive and you can replace the part yourself top save money.

2004 Jeep rain sensing wipers continue to run regardless of setting or amount of rain

a couple of thoughts:
Has your windshield just been replaced?
The sensor is up by the rear view mirror, is it plugged in all the way?
Do you have the right size wiper blades on your vehicle? (too short of a blade misses the rain sensor and does not wipe it clean)
How good are your blades? ( as above, to turn off the rain sensor the blade needs to wipe it clean)
The rain sensor works by projecting multiple inferred beams to the inside of the windshield, like a prism, they reflect back to collectors. when there is a water droplet on the outside of the windshield it changes a beams trajectory and it misses the collector thust turning on the wipers.
(yes, this all happens in that little sensor up by the rear view mirror.)
check to make sure the wiper switch is in the right position.
also....I've seen rain sensors not work properly when the hood or doors are open.
hope this helps

Windshield wipers on 1998 chevy venture

that was probably because it wears the engine that drives them to work. carry some internal contacts are called brushes and these are over. may also be that your system is damaged electrical wiring. or the alternator current nesecitas fail to bring a workshop to review electric luck
