Hi.

You need to replace the ambient air temp sensor. This is located underneath the vehicle, at the center, right behind the front bumper. It is protected by a plastic enclosure.

If the sensor is defective, when doing a fault code scan, you usually get an OBDII error code (likely P0071). A scan can be done for free at the nearest autozone.

Here the part, ensure that you buy the right one for your year and model: ambient temp sensor dodge caravan.

    Hi.

They have common parts in stock.

To ensure, better calling them first. In the worst case they should be able to get the part in about 24 hours.

Note: Autozone will only do the code scanning for free. If you ask the mechanic a diagnosis, or if you ask to test the sensor, they will obviously charge the service fee.

The sensor is not an expensive part.

    Best regards.

    Ginko.

Cylinder head torque settings

Thread Head bolt torque and sequence
Read the threads, but it states:
According to my manual the removal and the replacement sequence are different. Removal (looking from the cam sprockets )
headbolt 1-3-9-5-7 are on the left and 2-4-10-9-8 are on the right. Remove in that progression.
Instillation 9-5-1-3-7 are on the left and 10-6-2-4-8 are on the right tighten in that order.
Tighten to 25Nm or 18 ft/lb. and retighten the cyl hd blt 70 deg plus 70 deg plus 50 deg using the angular torque guage KM-470-B.
Hope this helps. Might help to make a sketch and label the 5 headbolts on each side.

What temp should a/c be in 1995 chev on max

Hard to say.
Under normal conditions, vent temp should be about 20 or 25 degrees less than outside air temp.
So if outside air temp is 90 degrees and the engine is at idle speed, vent temp would be around 65 or 70. On the road the vent temp could be less than 60 degrees.
If outside air temp is 70 degrees vent temp will be around 40 - 50.

I have a 98 cevy astro that i replaced the engine coolant temp sensor and i cleared the code after i started the van and ran it for a bit the code (p0118 engine coolant temp circuit high input ) came back ...

Hello! After you changed the sensor did you also replace the coolant? If so, It is necessary to bleed air from the cooling system or The ECM will set code P0118...If not check the connector wires...Black and Yellow for corrosion and/or broken/loose connections...See resistance to temperature chart...When engine is cold resistance of the CTS is high...when hot resistance is low...This will tell you if the sensor is working properly.............Guru...........Saailer

When the motor is cold and the outside temperature is below 70 the car will not stay running. Will die with in 30 seconds or so of starting, then you have to wait a minute or two befor the car will start...

Are there any service engine soon lights on associated with this problem?

Possible CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) or another sensor giving faulty data for the cool air temperature.

Check spark and gas delivery when cool, below 70 deg. If the spark is not being delivered or the fuel injectors are not delivering fuel at this temperature, it will explain why it doesn't run right until it is warmed up.

I would start by changeing the coolant temp. sensor for the emisions. This sensor controls the amount of fuel for any given temp.

When you change the heat system to read deg C, the outside air temp will also read deg C. To change between F & C press and hold the recirc button on the heat control and then press the + on the drivers side.
