While driving, a chirping noise develops. This wasn't the case a few weeks ago and it is only getting worse. It used to only do it at low speeds (less then 30 mph) but now it does it at all speeds. The...

it sounds as if your brake pads have worn down to the squeekers which
make an irritating sound to indicate service is needed, if you wear past them
sometimes the brake metal will grind the rotor making this sound. Please
have this checked out immediately as it will be less expensive if the rotors
can be turned instead of replaced.

I just purcahsed a 2003 ford excursion and I heard a whisteling sound yesterday coming from the front left tire while driving. I have noticed a fluid leaking from the left area and I went to stop this...

Sounds like you are leaking brake fluid. The grinding sound may be from the brake pad not disengaing from the rotor because of low brake fluid pressure. Have this checked immediatley you may loose all brake function!!

There is a knocking sound that comes from the right front wheel area only while braking and it's only heard at low speeds. i've taken the wheel off to inspect the rotor and brake pads. all seem to be in...

unless you have removed the rotor, you have not really inspected anything yet. the thumping will be caused by a high spot on the rotor. usually rust. lookes like you going to need rotors.

The light comes on and goes off. when i brake at speed everything is fine but when i brake at a low speed it seems the brakes are grinding with the pads. why is this

THEY ARE GRINDING ALL THE TIME! IT IS JUST THAT AT LOW SPEEDS YOU CAN HEAR THEM!
REPLACE THE PADS QUICK!
IT'S LIKE THIS CLASSIC EXAMPLE QUTE "I HAVE AN OIL LEEK BUT IT ONLY LEEKS WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED!" well it will be leaking while they are driveing but you can't see it that's all! WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT CAN DRIVE ALONG AND LOOK UNDER THE CAR AT THE SAME TIME????
Same senerio yes?
Probably wants discs to now!
BUT YOU CULD HAVE CHEAP PADS ON THERE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE IT! OR YOU MAY HAVE PICKED UP SOME GRIT OFF THE ROAD!
JUST WHIP THE WHEELS OFF AND CHECK!!
HAVE A NICE DAY.....Bruce

Sounds like you have a cv joint problem, or the front brake pads are worn down to metal and rubbing against the rotor, also could be the wheel bearing. Better have it checked.

New brakes needed on 2005 TSX with 23K miles

Thats low mileage for an 05...congrats. It is also way way low to be needing rear brakes!!!, The front brakes ALWAYS need replacement before the rear, unless you have a malfunction...or have been driving with the emergency brake on, (the emergency brake just works on the rear). Also, unless the brakes have been metal on metal, no way you should need new rear rotors with that mileage...I realize you trust your dealer, but, I'd get a 2nd opinion. As for the driving, sure, driving habits have a bearing on brake wear, and yes, you have probably done alot of stop and start, but probably at low speeds also. At any rate, you should not be replacing rear pads and certainly not rotors with 23K...unless there is another problem..Hope this helps!

05 Jeep GC 5.7 Hemi AWD- low grade groaning road noise

Pulsating in the brake pedal is normally an indication of ABS problems or master cylinder problems. A quick check after a short trip may isolate this further. drive the vehicle about 1 or 2 miles, preferably on a highway, then get out and feel for heat from the tires one at a time. Be careful not to touch the hot areas of the wheels. If you feel more heat coming from one tire than the others then the Caliper may be sticking causing the problem. You also need to check your read brakes this way as well as they could also cause this problem if they are sticking.
